This is a story of a bunch of scammers who came together to scam 2,000 people for over $35 Million selling NFTs, then a fake crypto coin, then private stock in a publicly traded company, then a casino, then a downhill skateboard team and many more.
It started with Hakan Torehan who had an ATM business called Talon. After scamming over 750 people for $12,000 each, he fled Turkey with his assistant Ebru around 2010 where he started over as a “legitimate” businessman. Around 2018, he was arrested at least twice for involvement in illegal online gambling. He was busted because he didn’t pay one of his clients, so they reported him.
He didn’t show up to one of his hearings and went missing for 4 months. When he surfaced, he claimed to have been kidnaped by a guy that was on Interpol’s red list. Turns out that the two were just friends, so the Interpol guy was charged with Harboring a fugitive. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison getting out sometime in 2019.
Sometime before of after prison, he purchased a professional soccer team and there was an issue with a hot check. He called the soccer federation a mafia and was suspended from the league. He also got his wife Ebru into politics.
He started a company called Ofinans that has suspected ties to money laundering and whose license was suspended for Money Laundering. He then has an idea of starting a cryptocurrency and changed their name to Miracle Cash&More.
Miracle Cash would be an ATM network, a Point of sale network, a ‘node’ system, and physical crypto exchange stores all tied together with a cryptocurrency called Miracle Coin. The whole thing would run on a proprietary blockchain network that would be groundbreaking.
Sometime around 2021, he met Micah David Theard who had been involved in selling fake bonds and then later jumped from one Multi-level-marketing scam to another in a group called Boogie Gopher Club.
Hakan convinced Micah that his dream was groundbreaking, so he purportedly sold Theard a franchise for the whole country of Spain (I think) for $500,000. Theard then has an idea of splitting up ownership of Spain into micro-shares. NFTs were the new crypto thing, so he sold ownership of Spain in $5,000 increments. He sold them like they were shares and sold them mostly to Americans. His daily and weekly meetings were filled with discussions of licensing, a contract to sell cell phone financing in 4,000 Vodaphone stores, installing hundreds of Point of Sale machines every day, distributing ATM machines, and physical stores that would open up. All of this was very exciting and the NFT holders were promised to make money on EVERY sale. People purchased them up to the tune of $2 Million per month, brought on my promised returns of as much as 3,500 return on investment. They even sell $25,000 classes to educate people on how to manage big wealth and do estate planning. And the company just kept selling. According to an insider , to the point that the sold all of the Spain NFTs (shares) and just kept selling them after they sold all of them.
There was so much demand, that they kept selling NFTs for new countries like Italy, UK, Benelux, Netherlands, and others. Then NFTs all over the world started crashing and becoming worthless. (by the way, we aren’t sure that they ever sold actual NFTs.). Regardless, the NFT world was crashing and none of the things above materialized, so they had to come up with new ideas. They came up with Phoenic Coin, another crypto coin and then the idea that they would be the first publicly traded crypto company. When investors began to wonder why this money-making network wasn’t being deployed, they switched investor attention to a casino that they were going to build in Northern Cyprus. When investors complained that the casino would take 5 years to materialize, they announced that they purchased a 60% completed casino.
To keep investors overwhelmed and distracted, there are talks about Sports media contracts, a crypto channel, a worldwide sports television channel, a downhill skateboarding sponsorship, a handball league, a Soccer fantasy league app, a crypto trading platform, and countless more BS.

- Oscar Garcia (Orange County): This guys story is a whole other side story. Left his company Batched where the SEC fined him hundreds of thousands and had a software that (some say) scammed people and then sold that software to Miracle Cash&More. Miracle Cash&More claim to not have purchased the software. Oscar is Filing a lawsuit against the company. I think the venue is Orange County). He has a lot of insider info as he just left the company in October 2023. He doesn’t seem to want to talk too much about the Node software that he sold, because I think that means he has to admit that he knows it was scam software.
- Darcy (Sacramento): Very colorful person to interview. Attests that it is all a scam, but thinks some of it was real too. Darcy knows a lady who used to work there and has a company laptop with info on it.
- We have an ex manager (Italy) we are talking to who managed a European region. He isn’t much help but has some inside info about who and where employees worked.
